The sim itself has a full range of settings. Back in the days of DirectX9 games where the game itself offered just a resolution setting and maybe a single low/medium/high slider, this nV control panel stuff was useful.
BTW, in crimson I can’t find any settings related to the Oculus or HMD. Same for display settings in Windows. Oculus is plugged into the HDMI port and TV is plugged into DP via HDMI adapter. I’m beginning to regret not buying the Nvidia 1080 configured PC. I may return this PC to Amazon, and start over.

NV Control Panel settings do work, as I've fiddled with them myself. That was a while ago, so changes to the engine may have been introduced in the newest patches. Extra settings that the game doesn't know about (max prerendered, triple buffering, ao performance etc) the control panel always stick.
